I WISH...!

JANVI | VI C

I wish I could have many toys

I wish we could have a lot of happiness

I wish we could have very good health

I wish we could have the power to fight Covid-19

I wish we could all stay well

I wish we could have our old beautiful days

I wish we could have classes in school

I wish we could all play in our school’s sports complex

Oh God, when will our wishes become a reality!

MY SIBLING AND ME

I think of him...

He is always there for me,

Even when I can't be there for myself.

Who cheers me in my moments of distress,

Who consoles me when I am in tears,

Yes, it's my brother!

He stands up for me and helps me fight my fears.

He forgives me when I hurt him,

His love for me is my favorite hymn!

GOLDY-
MY PET DOG

ILLUS.- SHREYASHI KANJI VI B

I have a pet dog and its name is Goldy. He is golden brown in color and is quite furry in appearance. He is a very humble and child friendly dog. Goldy obeys my commands promptly. He is delighted to see me when I come back from school. He protects our house especially during the night and no one dares to come in front of him. His favorite meal is chicken.

I LOVE MY GOLDY VERY MUCH!

BOOK REVIEW - THE WILD PACK

TANISHQ R SREEJU | IV A

I have read many books and “The Wild Pack” is one of my favourites. It is written by Boris Pfeiffer and Andre Max. I like this story because it is about animals.  The story revolves around a wolf named Hamlet. He lived in a zoo and only had one friend, Barnabas the gorilla. They lived happily till Mueller, the cruel zoo director, decided to make a fur-coat out of Hamlet for his third daughter. He had killed a polar bear and a tiger to make fur-coats when his other daughters were eighteen. Hamlet was really scared. That’s when Barnabas helped Hamlet escape from the zoo and told him to find the wild pack. Hamlet promised Barnabas that he’ll save Barnabas soon and Hamlet ran outside the zoo-gate before the keepers caught him. He ran and ran. And by the way, he was really hungry! But he still had hope. Finally, he found the wild pack. There was one thing- he had not found a paradise but only a group of scraggy ragtag animals. At first, they were not happy with Hamlet around. They started liking him eventually. Then Hamlet took the help of the wild pack and rescued Barnabas. The wild pack jumped from building to building back to their secret place along with Barnabas and Hamlet.  That was Hamlet’s story. Even though Hamlet had believed that the “wild pack” was just a story that does not exist in real life, he was amazed when he discovered such a pack of animals living inside a town without being noticed by humans. My favourite character is Hamlet. I love this book and have read it many times. Isn’t this really a nice story?

EVIL EYES

ILLUS.- ADITYA GOEL VI B

As I was walking through the dark street at night,

They called me like it was their right.

I avoided, I didn't want to fight,

Got back home, though now I am out of their sight.

Next evening I saw the same evil eyes,

I was frozen, so cold I was, as ice.

He followed me, from my very place,

Tried to pull my skirt lace.

Get off my way, I said in fear,

He smiled as if he couldn't hear.

His eyes were full of disgust,

I ran pushing him down on the dust.

Ran I, to my mother, eyes full of tears,

His laughter resounded in my ears.

Do these evil eyes still prevail?

Does every girl in the same boat sail?

HOPE - AN ILLUSION!

FAHAMA KHAN  | XI  A

Hope is in the inside,

In my heart it does reside.

Hope is something I wanna hold,

It is much more precious than gold.

Hope is what I wanna see when I am in darkness,

It is something that pulls me out of nothingness.

This hope keeps me out of confusion,

Let me not think of it as an illusion!

It will make me sad however,

If it isn't there with me forever.

So close to me it clings,

Like a sweet melody in my heart it rings.

ILLUS.- ARIBA SIDDIQUI  VIII A

She isn't a toy,

She hides her tears;

Craves for a loved one,

But who has the time to care!

She isn't a toy,

She is indeed extraordinary;

Needs a shoulder to cry on,

But who has the heart to understand!

She isn't a toy,

She has lots of courage.

And is indeed a pure soul,

But who can give her affection!

She isn't a toy,

Hasn’t any bad intentions;

Still is beaten, tortured, scolded,

But she only gazes the sky waiting, waiting and waiting!

AN UNFORGETTABLE DAY OF MY LIFE

SHRIYA PREMANAND | VI A

It was our family's decision to meet each other during the winter vacation. On 8th of December 2019, my mother was expecting her friend who had come to New Delhi for some work. At around midnight, the doorbell rang and all of us were fast asleep except my mother who was busy doing her work. She rushed to the door thinking it was her friend who came. But to her surprise, it was my uncle and aunt from the U.S who had to come on 9th December 2019. Due to some issues in France, the flight was diverted to New Jersey via Mumbai then to Delhi. So, they arrived at our house earlier than expected. My aunt  hugged me, but I had no idea about what was happening and could not believe my eyes. She also gave me lots of gifts and chocolates. After a while we all went to bed and went off to sleep. This has been a memorable moment in my life.

THE UNEXPECTED PANDEMIC

FAHAMA KHAN | XI A

It was the year 2019,

When Covid hit in as a crisis.

So cool was life until then,

Just me, my and myself.

It appeared as a flick,

But turned the world upside-down, crazy and sick.

It was the first time in my entire life,

We seemed to enter a zone of strife.

Some days were sad and grey,

While the others were in hope of a beautiful ray.

I wish it ends someday,

To the Lord each one needs to faithfully pray!

A WALK DOWN THE ROAD

NANDITA | XI A

When I walk down the road

On a busy day,

With a creepy headache.

On the way

I see sunset,

Bowing down to pray.

Shattering its chest,

To come again with its best!

With the sun in my mind,

I look right behind,

And what I see as I walk ahead,

A fellow selling a bouquet.

I got my eyes fixed on a rose,

There were twenty more different flowers,

But Rose is what I chose!

I paid him ten rupees

The fellow was happy and cheerful!

His smile was attractive,

Do you know why??

It was from his heart!

I held the rose to smell,

I felt so pretty well!

It cured my headache.

I started walking down the busy road,

Sun and Rose both were in my mind,

How one escaped and the other came!

That evening was unique!

I was calm and it was not the same routine,

I started to think,

Good days do exist.

I felt a kiss on my forehead.

Forgetting my past I moved ahead

I felt a lot different!

My new journey began…

But there still is a storm in my heart.

My poetic expression is an art.

Forever from the beginning till the end,

My life is a beautiful story in need of a friend.

My parents always talk about it,

And I too remember a bit.

A sudden twitch like a curtain drawn,

Memories flood my present dawn!

I wish I could go back to those times,

When all I sang were the nursery rhymes.

I played in the park on hot summer days,

It was all fun with no unwanted delays!

The times back then are now a sweet memory,

My life then was a different story.

My parents were a part of my little world,

My life around them just swirled.

These memories are now my past,

My childhood did not much longer last.

Those moments are unforgettable,

Wish they were reversible!

It’s okay!

It's okay if you know where you belong or who you are,

It’s okay to even feel confused and lost!

Life is a wonderful journey.

It may seem messy and complicated,

Stop, Pause and Breathe!

Remember you are building yourself each day.

It’s okay if no one understands you,

It’s okay if you alone understand your feelings.

It’s okay if you feel lonely and insecure,

It’s okay if life is tough,

It’s okay if you feel the road is rough!

Do not sit and shed tears,

Stand strong to fight your fears.

Hide not behind the internet,

Caught like a fish you will be in a net!

Get up and wear on a new dress,

Get not trapped in the world of Digi Stress!

HOW I HELP AT HOME

AKSHAJ JAITIK | IV A

ILLUS.- JAINAB VI B

I always help my family members at home. I water the plants every day. Every morning, I prepare myself for my online classes and set my books in my school bag. I keep my room clean. When guests come, I help my mother with the house-hold work. I bring down all the dried clothes from the terrace. I carry all the shopping bags at the shopping center. In the hospital, I stand in a queue to get medicines for my parents. I help my younger brother and sister in completing their homework. I give a massage to my parents when they feel tired. I also lock the main entrance door daily at night. Recently, I helped my father paint the main door. I help father in arranging his documents and sometimes even polish his shoes. I spend my free time with my grandparents. I always obey my elders. I love my parents and I thank God for their presence in my life. I will do anything to make them feel proud of me.

IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS

ILLUS.- SANCHITA NAYAK  VIII B

If I had a million dollars, I would surely be very grateful to God. I would have set up goals and have desires that I would want to achieve in the coming years. But, would all my desires/ dreams come true? Maybe yes!  Maybe not! I want to do something for my country and my people especially when in today's world, we all are living under this unprecedented shock of the present pandemic. Many of them are grieved at the loss of their loved ones. Some have even lost their jobs. There is grief and disappointment all over. Each one, help one! I wish my million dollars would bring a million dollar smile on the faces of all around me.

There must be some memories that make you happy and make you think how exciting all this is!  As a teenager I have faced a lot of problems, both small and big, that every teenager has to deal with every day. Teenagers are being noticed and commented on how they dress up. It is important to look good every time they go out. Teenagers spend most of their time studying or hanging out with friends. For a teenager, the company of friends at times seems to be more valuable than family. What goes into a teenager's mind? The problem may be big or small but every teenager needs a shoulder to cry on. There is a need for a true friend at this crucial age to be able to stand through the storms of life. It is very important that every teenager is physically, mentally and emotionally strong. A healthy body has a healthy mind. Good physical care needs to be a conscious effort made by every single teenager. Inculcate good values, be self - disciplined and dare to stand up for the truth.  This strongly reminds me of the school motto, John 8: 32 - “The truth will make you free!”

MY CHALLENGES AS A TEENAGER

ZEBA IDRISHI | XI A

It's the 21st century and the fact is that life of a teenager is not at all easy. If you are also a teenager like me, do you think it's easy for you...? There must be some challenges you are facing right now  and also for me as a teenager it hasn’t been easy. Many of them are fighting with anxiety,  stress, low self-esteem, insecurity and even depression. They are challenged with choosing the right career. The exciting part of being a teenager is to stay out long with friends and also enjoy the freedom of choosing how, when and where to work. It’s not easy to be a teenager but at the same time it’s fun. Is it really fun for you too?

The air I breathe,

Feels like a pleasant treat.

The sound of lightning,

The sunset in the evening,

Seems so cool and refreshing.

Rejoicing in the lap of nature,

Sensing its beauty is every creature!

Rain drops from the sky,

Makes me wonder how time passes by!

Life is a beautiful gift,

May we not end it in a swift!

ROBINSON CRUSOE - A HEROIC FIGURE

JOHAN SAMUEL | V C

Illustrated_Ship_Classroom_Poster__1_-removebg-preview.png

My favorite book is Robinson Crusoe. The book is written by Daniel Defoe. It is a book filled with adventures and I love reading such stories. The story is about a man named Robinson Crusoe. He is sailing in a ship. Sometime later the ship is wrecked by a wave and he is thrown out to the shore. He thanked God for saving his life. He lived on the island for 24 years. There were savage cannibals as inhabitants and Robinson saved a man's life. They together saved many other people from the savages and cannibals. A few days later a ship came and rescued them. And that was the story of Robinson Crusoe. It was a good feeling while reading the book. I felt that I was a part of that ship. I also felt that I myself was Robinson Crusoe.

Cela m’a appris à me motiver dans ma nouvelle vie.
